Infrastructure

Investment in our Water Infrastructure:

British Columbians are lucky to be in the Pacific Northwest, where water is not only abundant but also better quality than in most other regions. However, it is not a resource we can take for granted. Over the last decade we have seen a trend towards longer and hotter summers, along with smaller snow packs on our mountains. This has led to obvious strain in our water supply towards the latter half of recent summers.

Thankfully we’re still blessed with long rainy spells in the fall, winter and spring. The BC Action Party is committed to strengthening our water infrastructure by increasing our reservoirs' capacity to capture and store water during these periods of precipitation. This takes time; and the time to start this investment is now so we can ensure that water shortages don’t affect our quality of life and secure an adequate, if not abundant, water supply for generations to come.
